Our Key People

Ricardo Maldonado – Accredited Statistician

Ricardo has over 25 years of experience in statistical consulting, biostatistics and marketing analytics. He founded Power Stats in 2002.

He has extensive experience in the areas of research/sampling design, statistical modelling and the application of multivariate techniques to solve complex research problems.

Ricardo holds postgraduate qualifications in Statistics. He has spoken and published widely on topics ranging from forecasting insect density in grain silos to the application of state of the art statistical techniques in market research.

He is an Accredited Statistician and a member of the Accreditation Committee of the Statistical Society of Australia (SSAI). He is a full member of the SSAI and the International Institute of Forecasters.

Sayuru Kulupana – Statistical Analyst

Sayuru started his role as a statistical analyst at Power Stats in 2009. He received his bachelor’s degrees in Actuarial studies and Applied Finance from Macquarie University soon after commencing his employment at Power Stats. A self-described perfectionist, Sayuru prides himself on making sure every job is done accurately and efficiently.

Sayuru’s main areas of expertise are:

  • Time series analysis and demand forecastings
  • Survival analysis
  • Web survey design
  • Data processing/ Dynamic modelling
  • Statistical testing for market research and medical research

Apart from his work at Power Stats, Sayuru is passionate about sport. He participates in, and attends, a range of sporting events around Australia.
